Hello Again!

I've been finished my exams for a whole month and I haven't written one single blog post- I've been too busy chilling out and turning into a sloth watching endless TV shows on my laptop. So far I've watched 5 seasons of Gossip Girl (I LOVE!), rewatched Doctor Who and watched Breakfast at Tiffany's for the first time. I think I'm pretty much guaranteed to have square eyes by the time I'm 30 with the amount of time I spend on my laptop.

Anyway, as always, to launch back into blogging, I've put together a little updatey collage of my last few months. My blogging lapses have become so regular since I started back in 2012 that they're routine now: I blog away all summer when I have free time, get together a few posts over Christmas when I'm off and a random post or two through the year if I'm lucky. With how focused I am with studying you'd think I could apply that to blogging, exercise and other parts of life but nope- I'm lazy when it comes to everything else!
my lecturer wore these leggings one day #absoluteawe | what I'm like in uni | jk what I'm actually like in uni | I've become obsessed with Eastenders again this year- my long lost soap love | lush baths! | maoam pinballs = fave | new bikini for holiday | me arriving at the beach this year ahaha (this pic gets me every single time)
my uni is pretty | strawberry daiquiri mmm | exploring the library | chinese takeaway= life's special moments | my laptop broke for a few days in May & it was a very, very real struggle | brunch in TriBeCa- if you've never ate here you must- immediately | my new lamb onesie is soo cosy | cheesecake (insert heart eye emoji) | going for a catch up with girls a few nights ago

Now that we're all up to speed I'd just like to say a quick thank you to everyone for sticking around even though my posting is so inconsistent. I've got heaps of post ideas for the coming months and I'm so excited to be back!

Hello September...

7 multi-coloured leaves hanging on a line
While I myself sometimes find myself having to put in a bit of extra effort to read other bloggers' update posts, I also have an unsuppressable urge every now and then to write a big one of my own. I'm going to keep this one short and sweet though (hopefully) so it doesn't feel like you're climbing Everest to reach the end.

Blog Stuff
  • I'm so proud that I managed to keep up with my August schedule of 3 posts a week.
  • From now on I'm going to be posting once a week with the odd extra post so that I can keep consistency without compromising studying.
  • I'm so pleased to have reached 300 Bloglovin' followers and 320 GFC followers.
  • Be sure to let me know if there is anything in particular you'd like me to post about.

Life Stuff
  • I'm really pretty ready for the autumn. I've already been living in cosy jumpers and darker colours. I like the thought of being cosy on winter nights with candles and hot chocolate!
  • I'm starting university this month! I'll be studying English Literature, English Language and Sociology.
  • As of yesterday, I've been working for a year. I'm also now training as bar staff.
  • I've been doing driving lessons. Its going really well and I'm enjoying it a lot.
  • I went on my first holiday with my friends to Malia and it was absolutely incredible. I've never wanted to stay on a holiday more.
  • I've finally been making an effort to drink more water- hooray!
  • I've achieved most of my summer bucket list but I've decided not to write an autumn one because last years was a bit of a fail. Who has time to go nature walks and take pictures of leaves anyhoo?
  • TV wise I'm still loving Doctor Who and PLL and I'm so excited that The X Factor is back!
  • I'm loving Ed Sheeran's album 'X'.

Hobbies To Try Update (See this post)
  • I'm going to my first yoga class in 2 years tomorrow.
  • I made really simple bracelets and loom bands.
  • I tried 'colouring pages' (yes it really constitutes a hobby) and while it could be seen as relaxing, I found it pretty under-stimulating and time consuming.
  • I haven't done any actual origami, but I have pinned a lot of ideas. I'm basically half way there.
  • I haven't managed much reading (still on summer reading book 3/40), running (lol) or scrapbooking. I still have a fortnight though!
I think that's everything! What's new with you?

I'm Back/ Update (Again)

Hello friends!

I've lost track of the number of posts I've opened with 'I'm back!' or 'Remember me?' etc etc. I'm so inconsistent but thank you so much for those of you who are still around! After every lengthy absence from blogging I have the urge to dive back in with an updatey post-I feel like I need to let you know what I've been doing. I'm going to keep this short and sweet and make it just like one of the weekly instagram run-down posts I used to do back in the day. Its weird: when I started looking for pictures to sum up the last two months I realised I really need to start taking more pictures.
16 square images from left to right and down: pink blossom tree, high tea stand with cakes and sandwiches, selfie of girl with ponytail in all black, full length photo of brown haired girl with fringe in navy chiffon prom dress, selfie of fake tanned girl laughing, wall collage of flowers, sea shells and Gatsby movie, pink floral phone cover, loom bracelet, jake bugg album cover sepia with young man's face, happy 18th balloon, hamper, large orange frozen cocktail, jewellery everywhere, two bottles of perfume, wrist with lots of bangles, busy crowd looking at stage at night
So, main things that have been happening:
I done my exams, finished school and went to prom.
 I turned 18 ahhh woopee!!
I went to the music festival T in the Park.

Other things:
I've been eatting lots of yummy food (bye bye that bikini body I thought was possible).
I've become absolutely obsessed with Jake Bugg.
I've been really into fake tan though I think I've managed to make 90% of applications disastrous before rinsing.
I've been on an absolute mission to tidy and organise my room.

I have lots and lots of posts planned and let's face it, its SUMMER- I have all the time in the world to write up blog posts so expect lots of content from me- yay!

What has your summer consisted of so far?

I'm Back/ Catch up!

Hey Everyone!

Remember me? I can't quite believe I have left it this long since my last post: one week turned into two and four months later here I am- eek. You may be wondering what has been keeping me so busy, but in fact, other than the usual school demands and my weird craving for constant sleep, nothing has stopped me- I've just not been making the time to blog. I've been on Blogger almost everyday- flicking through my reading list and keeping myself (kind of) in the loop. At the same time though, I've been watching my follower count slowly drop and I'm not exaggerating when I say that I cry inside at the thought of even one person clicking unfollow. I left it and left it because I felt like there is pressure after such a lengthy period of absence to come back with a ground breaking post, but let's face it, none of my posts have ever been astoundingly excellent: they're mostly pretty chatty and based on whatever takes my fancy. So, after weeks of telling myself to snap back into it, today I have bitten the bullet and started typing.
blue sky with clouds
Ok, so this picture has no relation to what I'm talking about but anything to pop in one of my 'I am basically a professional photographer' attempts
Is it too late to tell you about my new years resolutions? I'm going to anyhoo. It just proves that I haven't forgotten them- which is a record for me seeing as its the middle of February.
two lists on wall
You will see, unlike last year, blogging isn't on my resolutions, but I figured that if I wanted to, I would. Some are more important/ realistic/ specific than others. "Study", "Do more good deeds" and "Be more organised" are pretty vague, and though they're well-intended, I haven't been placing as much emphasis on them as the others. Lateness is one of my big flaws (did I mention my love of sleep?) so I've been making a huge effort this year to be on time for everything. So far it's been mediocre. What I've surprised myself with was the "Exercise" one. My original draft of resolutions- written at about 10pm on Dec 31st, said 'Exercise- but I'm never going to' which isn't the most optimistic start. But, I have a holiday booked in August with my friends and the thought of wearing a bikini has been quite the motivation. I've been doing this 30 Day Challenge and although I know alone it won't be turning me into a beach goddess, its a start. I also bought a really really cute diary in Ryman and I've been using each day for to do lists and for writing the highlight of the day. Considering the fact that I gave up with my 'happy thought in a jar' resolution around the beginning of February last year, this has been going pretty well.
blue floral A6 notebook with pink polka dot spine with 2014 printed in dark pink
I realise this post is becoming quite lengthy, so I'm going to condense the rest of my catch-uppy news into bullet points because let's fact it, not many people will be interested in the screeds and screeds of ramble. (Screeds is a good word isn't it? My English teacher uses it a lot to describe my work lol)

▪I got into my first choice university to do English Literature woohoo- I start in September
▪I still have my job (I'm not sure if I mentioned it) and that's time-consuming and tiring but I'm still enjoying it.
▪I bought my first 'ladies handbag' from Zara and its so amazing and I love it- it deserves a whole post of its own so look out for that soon.
▪My mum bought me my first bunch of flowers! Not really that big a deal for most people but I'm so happy. They brighten my whole room and I just can't stop taking pictures of them.
▪I got new furniture! My old drawers and wardrobe were totally falling to pieces so it was due. The new ones are so sophisticated and chic.
▪I'm definitely not as focused in school this year but I'm trying to pull my socks up in time for the final exams in May.
▪I'm still watching my favourite tv shows: The Carrie Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, KUWTK and Doctor Who. Let me know if you like any of them because NO ONE I know (really) does.
▪I read Jane Eyre and it now holds 2nd place on my favourite books of all time (Gatsby still has 1st and deserves it considering how obsessed I was last year).
▪My blog's two year anniversary was a few days ago. Remember last year I had a knitted cake and collage of posts to celebrate- no such luck this year! But it is still a pretty big deal and even more of a reason to get me back into posting.

{Edit: I forgot one of my biggest bits of news- I'm so silly! I got a full fringe ooit}

So, I think I've pretty much covered the last four months. Now, would you look at that, I've just written a whole post and it was easy peasy!

So, what have you been doing? Anything exciting? Did you have a good Halloween/ Christmas/ New Year?

The Sunday Post #16

floral makeup bag next to fobwatch patterned notebook with eyelash curler, pink lipstick, mascara wand and mini perfume bottle in front
Hey Everyone!

My Life
I have been completely non-stop this week- I'm so thankful this is a long weekend (Friday/Monday off school woo!). On Thursday night I went to Nando's for the (kind of) first time. I went in New Zealand a few years ago but can't remember it at all so I've pretty much never been. Now I see what all the fuss is about! It was amazing: the atmosphere and the food were just fab. Friday was pretty productive: my friends and I visited the travel agents about a summer holiday next year, I took lots and lots of pictures for upcoming posts (I like to do them as lots), I planned my english essay (too bad I didn't write it though) and went to a family gathering. I've also worked 19 hours this weekend (yep, safe to say I'm sleeping and typing!) so tomorrow will be a life saver for catching up with everything.

Update
Can you believe that I've managed to stick to my posting schedule this month?! I'm pretty proud, even if I do say so myself, having missed only one sunday post (and let's face it these are just random rambles!). For October I'm going to be posting every Tuesday and Thursday at 5pm and the odd post on a Sunday (probably just if I have anything to share!).

Current Favourite
I bought a new bag woop! Its been on the agenda for ages: my old brown one was literally hanging together by a few strands.
small grey leather bag
This was £6 and I really like the colour as I think it'll go with pretty much every outfit. I also like the zipped compartments and the fact its slightly bigger than my last so I can fit an umbrella in there.

Last night I also watched The X Factor for the first time this year all the way through and really enjoyed it. They really do make it as dramatic as possible. I wish I had the time to keep up with it but I'll definitely be tuning in when I can. I also love Nicole's hair and makeup- its just perfect!

The Sunday Post #16

floral makeup bag on left of fob watch printed cream notepad behind rose gold eyelash curler, pink lipstick, mascara wand and mini perfume
Hey Everyone!

Here I am back again with another weekly update/ diary entry style/ ramble-athon post!

My Life
This week was quite weird as I was only in school for 3/5 days. On Thursday I had work experience all day (which was actually really good!) and then on Friday I was at an open day thingamabob. I think this week has marked the beginning of autumn as the leaves have started falling (I really want to pick up and press some nice ones before they're all rained on!) and the heating has went on. Is it just me or does anyone else like the smell of the radiator being on? Today will hopefully be a catch up day- though I have a pretty unrealistic to do list (when don't I?!)

Update
I'm doing great with the whole scheduled post malarky- I now need to start working on October's posts! On a separate note, would anyone be interested in a blog button swap if I had one in the sidebar?

Favourites of the week
Song: Katy Perry Rawr- you have no idea how much I've been singing this this week! Alone in my room? Yep. In school? Yep. Humming it to myself randomly in the street without realising? Of course.
Nail Polish: Topshop Nails in Eclipse - I am so in love with this. I am considering breaking my nail polish spending ban and getting another one in a different shade. I have to take it off for work- but I just repaint them after and its on the rest of the week.
TV: I sat down to watch The X Factor last night and I actually really enjoyed it! I haven't seen any of the arena auditions yet but I'm really enjoying the panel.

The Sunday Post #14

floral makeup bag on left of fob watch printed cream notepad behind rose gold eyelash curler, pink lipstick, mascara wand and mini perfume
Hey Everyone!

Happy September! Today's post is a bit later than usual as I've been busy all weekend- but better late than never. Though its going to be short as I have Politics homework awaiting (yawn).

My Life
This week has consisted mostly of school. I'm still in summer mode so when I come home I am generally being unproductive. Though I did wash my makeup brushes, put on fake tan and paint my nails way too many times- which I guess is something. I'm going to get focused this week and manage my time so that I can keep up with school and blogging.

As I mentioned, this weekend I have been super busy. On Friday I went to Pizza Hut for a catch up with friends- we got the Happy Hour deal which was great value. Then on Saturday I had my induction for work woop! It was actually really enjoyable! Then today my family and I went shopping and ordered some new furniture for my room from Next (which I am sooo excited to arrive). We also went to the best shop on the planet, also known as Ikea. Is it just me that thinks of a visit to Ikea like a day out? I am always soo inspired by the showrooms and want to buy heaps, though today I managed to restrain myself.

Update
I have a new posting schedule this month. I have it planned out in my post planner (ooer how fancy) that I'll be posting every Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 5pm and an extra post on a Sunday. There's a whole lot to look forward to including my nail polish collection, lots of reviews and an autumn bucket list- so look out for those.

Favourites
This week I've very much been liking shopping my stash. I had a makeup clear out during the week (more on that coming soon!) and while scouting through my makeup found some things that deserve a bit more love. I've been using MAC Mineralize Satin Finish foundation that my cousin gave me daily and actually quite liking it. I think its like a high end version of Wake Me Up.

This week also saw the return of one of my favourite tv shows: Celebrity Juice. I just love it- I was excited for it all week. Do any of you watch it?

The Sunday Post #12

floral makeup bag on left of fob watch printed cream notepad behind rose gold eyelash curler, pink lipstick, mascara wand and mini perfume
Hey Everyone!

I haven't written The Sunday Post in ages! I thought that because I'd neglected it so much I'd give it a little revamp with a new picture (which I think is extremely pretty- if I do say so myself!).

My Life
Well, summer is officially over as I went back to school on Thursday. I've never experienced 6 weeks going by so quickly! It seems unfair how summer is so short while winter is so long. I am going to post a few snaps from over the summer towards the end of this month so look out for that. At the moment I'm so reluctant to get back into the 'school' routine. I was partly looking forward to seeing everyone in school and getting to wear my new uniform but now that's over its just work work work. I'm going to try harder this year not to let school take over my life and make blogging a priority too.

Highlight of the week was definitely Saturday. 2 AMAZING things happened- I got a job (finalllyyy!) and while out walking me and my friend found a £20 note!! WOOOHOO! Seriously-my lucky day :D

Update
You may of noticed a couple of small changes I've made to the layout such as new social media icons and a new signature at the end of each post. I'm really happy with the design now as all the colours tie in with each other. Also, I've been really making an effort to get myself organised with upcoming posts and  ideas for posts so that I can finally get back into posting every other day. I even found some printable blog planners which then led me on to some amazing organisation blogs. Don't you love it when you stumble upon a whole genre of blogs that are so inspiring and you didn't even know existed? So the plan is to post every other day at 5pm until at least the end of this month. I have also made a mental note to start using my instagram again as I was looking back on the instagram posts I used to do and had forgot how great a way it is to mark the week. If you aren't already- follow me julz_obsessions and I'll follow you back!

Current Favourite
I have soo many favourites at the moment because I haven't shared one in so long! I'm loving Avicii's Wake Me Up- in my opinion its the summer song of this year. I've also been loving Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara (review coming on the 30th) and MAC MSF in Soft & Gentle (review coming next month).

Let me know how your week has been :)
Happy Sunday!

I'm Off!

Hey Everyone!

Just a quick note to say I'm off to Africa today! I'll be back on the 25th, and I've scheduled a few posts between now and then. I just wanted to let you know that it'll probably be a bit quieter over the next two weeks- but I'll be back into routine when I'm home.

And if you have any requests of posts you'd like to see be sure to let me know!

For now I'll leave you with a few random photos I've taken recently.

This is my most recent DIY!

I got this at a car boot sale for £1. Its not a great read, but I thought the cover was really nice!

I sorted my jewellery box yay!

Have a good two weeks!

The (Slightly Belated) Sunday Post #11

top of white drawers with small black TV, notebooks, sweets, candle holders, large pink jewellery box and lime green lamp
Hey Everyone!

Firstly, a big hello to my new followers. I'm hoping that people will start to use GFC again after the migration to Bloglovin'- I just don't like it as much. I feel like I'm always saying this, but apologies for the lack of posts of late. I haven't written an 'news' kind of post in a while- so I thought I'd give you a quick run down of what has been going on.

My Life
Probably the most exciting thing that happened recently was my birthday. I had a cute little family celebration, and was lucky enough to receive some lovely gifts. Other than that, I have just been preparing for my trip to Africa (I'm leaving tomorrow!) and watching wayy too much tv. Oh talking of TV- how great was the Wimbledon final?

Update
I'm not sure if I've already mentioned this, but I am taking a little break from Youtube. I may go back to it in the future, but for now I want to focus on blogging. I'm going to schedule a few posts for when I'm away then get into some sort of posting routine when I'm back.

Current Favourite
I have been in love with The Carrie Diaries over the past week! I watched the whole season in a few days. The fashion, characters, setting- everything is amazing! Do any of you like it?

Update & Happy New Year!

Quick warning: this post is a very, very long one- but hey that's how catchups go!

Hey Everyone!

Happy New Year! I've been a bit MIA blog wise over the last few days but I had good reason- I was in London over new year yay! We were visiting family there, and since we go quite often it wasn't really a sight seeing holiday however, I did do alot of shopping! We travelled there on the sleeper train which was quite a crazy experience; the room was so compact it was hilarious. We didn't do a lot the day we arrived as we were shattered (5 hours sleep just doesn't satisfy!), then we celebrated the bells. On the first we went to Westfields Shopping Centre (where I made my first MAC purchase ooit ooit- but that deserves a whole post of its own!) and it is really amazing; I've never seen so many shops under one roof- and I do a fair bit of shopping! Then yesterday we went into the centre of the city to Covent Garden and Oxford Street. My mum and I are a bit hopeless with direction so we actually ended up on Oxford Street while heading to the station to get the tube there. Anyway, I'll do a video on what I bought since it was quite a bit (which is ok as the sales are on!)
two photos of girl with white scarf, black jacket and brown hair in bun smiling, one outside Tiffany & Co, the right in makeup shop holding lipstick
Also, with this time of year comes the whole 'I'm going to improve' mindset. I don't think I'm alone in saying that I have never stuck to my new years resolution for the entire year- ever. So, this year I have tried to make my goals a little more realistic. As I type I'm watching Nikki Phillipi 's new series based on being happy and new years resolutions and it is so inspiring I will definitely be taking a leaf out of her book! But anyway, my new years resolutions are as follows:
  • Write down something that made me happy that day and put it in a jar to open in the future
  • Exercises a little everyday
  • Drink more water
  • Blog at least 3 times a week
  • Upload a video once a week
empty coffee jar with sparkle filter effect
This is my jar hehe- I'm going to jazz it up a bit in the next few days!

Ok have I covered everything? I think I have! I was going to tell you a bit about different features coming in the next little while but I am terrible for saying I'll post things and not following it through, so I'll just leave it as a surprise!

If you got to the end of this post- well done! I always try to remember that when I sit down to write late at night all I do is ramble but I keep forgetting and doing it anyway!

I am off to plan this years goals in more depth, perhaps decorate my jar and catch up on the Youtube videos I've missed over the last few days.

What's your new years resolutions?

Instagram | The Last Fortnight In Pictures #13

I've actually tried to publish this everyday since Sunday and it just won't post argh! 3rd time lucky...
Hey Everyone! I can proudly say that for the last week I have been really focused with my studies- yet I have also managed to find a few hours for blogging/ YouTubing. I think the key is time management and I'm going to try and organise and use my time really effectively so I can do everything I want to. I don't know about you, but I absolutely LOVE this time of year. Everything is just so festive and everyone has got Christmas fever. Sadly, I'm A Celebrity has finished- though that does mean an extra 2 hours added onto my night. I really enjoyed the show this year (as always!) and was happy for either Charlie or Ashleigh to win. What did you think of the result?

From left to right and down:
red nails | Thorntons Christmas Santa! | study study study | pretty soap packaging | quite proud of my wrapping skills! | cute handmade tree decorations | first night putting the fire on | sleeping in the library | pale blue and grey glitter nails | yo | advent calendar | lots of filming done yesterday | woo name spelled correctly | amazing lush parcels in store | how cute is this?

What have you been doing in the past two weeks? Does anyone have their decorations up yet?

Its Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas...

Hey Everyone!

Well what do you know- winter is upon us already and its exactly 6 weeks today till Christmas day (eek where has this year went?). I love this time of year- getting all cosy in my onesie at night, lighting candles, the influx of Christmas adverts, I'm a celebrity is back (favourite tv program ever woo!) and becoming dangerously addicted to hot chocolate.
unfocussed photo of half way finished cream candle and pink candle
Talking of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here, isn't it just the most entertaining programme of the year? I absolutely love Ant and Dec, they are utterly hilarious and I'm enjoying getting nightly fashion inspiration from Get Me Out of Here Now's Laura Whitmore. I'm sad to see that Russell Kane isn't back though- I thought he made the after show. Any thoughts?

On another note, I had a burst of inspiration for posts last night, and I am so excited to share all my winter wishlists and themed posts with you in the coming weeks. I feel like this year, because I'm so busy Christmas will just kind of by pass me, but I'm determined not to let that happen by marking the occasion with festive posts and of course the usual Christmas preparation (I've usually got my shopping done by now but I haven't even started!)

Also, on the blogging front, I'm thinking of a slight change of direction- I want to make posts a bit shorter, with more good quality pictures, not so categorised and hopefully more flowing. I'm quite an organised, structured person but I want my blog to be a bit more arty, a kind of creative outlet, rather than an extension of study.  So yep that's the plan- we'll see how it goes!

I'm looking forward to the Coca Cola advert- that's when you know its Christmas!

What's you're favourite thing about this festive season?

Cheryl Cole A Million Lights Concert

Hey Everyone!

Remember me? I'm back to normal life after a crazy last two weeks (I was in a musical woot!) so hopefully regular(ish) posting will resume. In saying that, today's post is not beauty or fashion related but instead I thought I'd share with you some pictures of when I went to see Cheryl two weeks ago.
woman in gold beige outfit walks on stage with green spotlights
woman in black dress sings to crowd with dancers behind her
woman smiles holding microphone wearing purple dress
woman singing wearing purple dress and purple boots surrounded by audience
This is how close we actually were! ^
woman in pink and black military outfit and cap dancing with backing dancers behind
'I SALUTE YOU' in white letters lighting up stage
It was absolutely amazing and it made me love Cheryl even more. We had really good seats and at one point Cheryl came and stood on this big platform just in front and she was so close! The concert made me realise just how much she has done as a solo artist and what an incredible dancer she is. And in case you're wondering, my cousin and I did try to sneak round the back of the arena and we got really close to the tour bus but we were sent off by a security guard (spoil sport!) I really hope Cheryl returns more to the public eye as I often (weirdly) forget how much I love her! I think she's got a knack of pulling off whatever she wears or does- like she had in side braid kind of things which I have never been a fan of but they looked great on her and it made me want to try them (odd example I know! :P)

Do you like Cheryl Cole? Would you like to see more of this kind of 'what I'm up to' post?

On a side note- I would like to try and write up posts on my phone but my Blogger app is stuck with posts from like 10 weeks ago and will not refresh even after reinstalling it- any ideas why this is?

Instagram | The Last Fortnight in Pictures #9

Hey Everyone!

How are you all? Surprisingly, I'm not in my usual Sunday night freak out at how busy I am state. I've actually had quite a relaxing night- watching X Factor (shock horror scandal at the drama!) and TOWIE (don't judge me, its only my second week watching it and I just enjoy it being on in the background). This week has been pretty good actually, though its went so quick!

Good news is though that last night I wrote up a few posts so there won't be those long periods of nothingness. Also, I have been considering a bit of a blog revamp lately- I want to somehow create a kind of pretty sparkly aura as soon as you click on to my blog. So I might start messing about with some designs this week, though html does my head in as it takes forever!
From left to right and down:

Well I'm going to go to bed shortly- maybe start this week not being shattered? How was your week?

Update | I Won A Giveaway Hip Hip Hooray

Hey Everyone!

Well I must confess that its been over a week since my last post- eek! I think that's the longest I've went since I started without posting! Undoubtedly, the highlight of the week was Tuesday when I got in from school and there was a brown parcel sitting on my bed. Now I'm not one to receive mail a lot, let alone a parcel full of goodies so as you can imagine I almost hit the roof with excitement.  You see I won a giveaway for the first time yayyy!

It was held on MsMeatballhead124's  amazing Youtube channel (check it out people, she has a blog too and both are great- she's so lovely and easy to watch!). I got an email a couple of weeks ago to say I had won and I was doing treble back flips and all sorts of shiz :D After my skilful box opening (in case you haven't, take a look at my complete fail opening my ELF order) this is what I found.

Each item was individually wrapped in orange tissue paper and I cannot explain the delight I had in unwrapping each.

So here is what I received:
red sparkly lipgloss with orange lid
pink and coral large nail polish bottles being held by white hand
pale blue and brown eyeshadow in small black palette
blue thick bangle with gold circles around it
Wooo I am so happy! How amazing is all this stuff? I love that because its from Canada, its brands you don't get here. The first item is a red lipgloss from Yves Rocher which I am glad to report is beautiful!! Then the eyeshadow is also Yves Rocher but I haven't tried it yet. I tried Yves Rocher a few years ago when I was in Germany and its kind of like The Body Shop. Then the nail polishes are by Finger Paints, a brand that I've not actually heard of but oh my goodness! I tried the pink immediately (what polish ban?) and it is definitely my favourite pink nail polish! It stays on for ages (yep, it stays on me, the constant nail biter!) and it the most bold colour. I haven't tried the coral yet but I think it'll be just as great. Then finally this lovely blue and gold bangle from Joe Fresh. I think this is so cute and is a lovely statement piece :)

I am so very thankful to MsMeatballhead (or Mel) and once again I would recommend you all to hop on over to her blog here and channel here
