The Autumn Bucket List

Hey Everyone!

The first official day of autumn is in 2 days! I actually thought it started in early September at the latest but nope- according to my friend Google- 22nd September is the official date. So, with a new season comes a new bucket list. Admittedly, I've been in an autumn mindset for quite a few weeks now. You can't blame me: summer lasts about 2 weeks in Scotland (if we're lucky!)
Cream graphic with red leaf on right next to list: 'Take pictures of multicoloured leaves, BOO someone, eat a chocolate apple, wear dark lipstick, wear owl rings, take an autumn nature walk, collect acorns, press brightly coloured leaves, get a job, get back on track with blogging, watch disney movies, go to a halloween party, burn candles, switch up wardobe'
I've actually already made a start on some of these! I switched up my wardrobe before school started: saying goodbye to those summer dresses for another year (most still unworn) and bringing out my woolly jumpers. I've also been burning candles I want to use up because I recently bought a new three-wick strawberry one but I won't let myself burn it until I've used up my smaller vanilla one and green tealights. I've also got a job woohoo! And as for the 'get back on track with blogging'- I think I'm doing pretty well.

I'm so into bucket lists at the moment I think they're so productive and a great way to look back on and keep track of your goals.

What do you hope to achieve this Autumn?

The Summer Bucket List- Review

New obsession alert: LISTS.

Hey Everyone!

I have always been a sucker for a to do list- especially at school or when I'm really busy. Recently though, I've taken list making to a whole new level and filled a book with different lists (I may do a post on that if anyone is interested?) as well as writing bucket lists. One was the traditional kind: things I want to do in my lifetime and the others were mini ones of things I want to do per season. I then saw this post on The Trendy Chic which really inspired me to blog about the lists I had written. I thought sharing this this would be a fun way to let you know what I've been up to over the past few months and maybe inspire you to do your own. I want to make this a feature on Julz' Obsessions: at the start of a season I will post what I want to achieve and at the end I will let you know how I got on!
  • Spend 2 weeks in Tanzania
  • Get a job
  • Have a massive clear out of my old stuff
  • Go thrift shopping
  • Make a bracelet out of Starburst wrappers
  • Watch loads of TV and Youtube
  • RELAX
  • Go on the trampoline
  • Buy a hula hoop
  • DIY projects
  • Find one new HG makeup item
  • Go walks
  • Get back into blogging routine
  • Start a new memory box
  • Have days out when it's sunny
  • Have a picnic
  • Blow bubbles
  • Read
  • Use fake tan
The things I accomplished are in pink and the things I didn't manage are in brown.

As you know, I did indeed spend 2 weeks in Africa and it was the most amazing experience. When I got back, I had a major declutter of my room and sold some old stuff on ebay and the rest will be sold at the next boot sale I do. I also went thrift shopping and actually found brand new things donated from H&M (does that defeat the purpose?). I made two Starburst wrapper bracelets: one for my blogger friend Melanie and one for me which I posted about here. I certainly watched a lot of TV and YT before Africa: I watched all of Miranda, caught up on Pretty Little Liars, watched Geordie Shore from the beginning, Friends and Sex and the City. I went on the trampoline (only twice though) and done DIY projects such as the bunting featured here. I completely fell in love with MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle (full review coming soon!) and decided to walk to complete a few errands rather than taking the bus. I used the personalised storage box I created here for my new memory box and had many days out. I didn't have the traditional picnic in a park but my family and I had one on the train down to Blackpool so I think that still counts. Blowing bubbles was a bit of a random goal but it is something really summery and I done it in Africa visiting the primary schools (the kids went crazy for them!) I didn't read the books I intended to (that would help my advanced english course this year) but I did read Cheryl Cole and Gok Wan's autobiographies: both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. Finally, I did put on fake tan- in fact it was pretty much as soon as I came out of my final exam! I was pretttyy dark (to say the least) but when it washed off a bit I liked it!

As for those I didn't manage: so far, I haven't found a job- though it certainly isn't through lack of trying! I also didn't relax as much as I wanted but I'm actually glad because I feel sooo unproductive doing nothing. I haven't bought a hula hoop yet- but its still on the agenda! I just need to wait till I'm passing ASDA in the car as I'm not up for walking or getting the bus home with one haha. I also failed to get back into the blogging routine- sorry about that! I'm going to try and post regularly again as I go back to school and autumn arrives.

Overall I think I did really well in completing the goals I wanted to and can only hope I will be as successful in autumn.

What goals did you accomplish this summer?

Update & Happy New Year!

Quick warning: this post is a very, very long one- but hey that's how catchups go!

Hey Everyone!

Happy New Year! I've been a bit MIA blog wise over the last few days but I had good reason- I was in London over new year yay! We were visiting family there, and since we go quite often it wasn't really a sight seeing holiday however, I did do alot of shopping! We travelled there on the sleeper train which was quite a crazy experience; the room was so compact it was hilarious. We didn't do a lot the day we arrived as we were shattered (5 hours sleep just doesn't satisfy!), then we celebrated the bells. On the first we went to Westfields Shopping Centre (where I made my first MAC purchase ooit ooit- but that deserves a whole post of its own!) and it is really amazing; I've never seen so many shops under one roof- and I do a fair bit of shopping! Then yesterday we went into the centre of the city to Covent Garden and Oxford Street. My mum and I are a bit hopeless with direction so we actually ended up on Oxford Street while heading to the station to get the tube there. Anyway, I'll do a video on what I bought since it was quite a bit (which is ok as the sales are on!)

Also, with this time of year comes the whole 'I'm going to improve' mindset. I don't think I'm alone in saying that I have never stuck to my new years resolution for the entire year- ever. So, this year I have tried to make my goals a little more realistic. As I type I'm watching Nikki Phillipi 's new series based on being happy and new years resolutions and it is so inspiring I will definitely be taking a leaf out of her book! But anyway, my new years resolutions are as follows:
  • Write down something that made me happy that day and put it in a jar to open in the future
  • Exercises a little everyday
  • Drink more water
  • Blog at least 3 times a week
  • Upload a video once a week
empty coffee jar with sparkle filter effect
This is my jar hehe- I'm going to jazz it up a bit in the next few days!

Ok have I covered everything? I think I have! I was going to tell you a bit about different features coming in the next little while but I am terrible for saying I'll post things and not following it through, so I'll just leave it as a surprise!

If you got to the end of this post- well done! I always try to remember that when I sit down to write late at night all I do is ramble but I keep forgetting and doing it anyway!

I am off to plan this years goals in more depth, perhaps decorate my jar and catch up on the Youtube videos I've missed over the last few days.

What's your new years resolutions?
