List of Lists | Daily Edition

pink planner with pink peony next to it and gold keyrings and rings

Way back in 2013 I wrote a post called My List of Lists and even now it's one of the most popular posts on Julz Obsessions. Guess it just shows how many list lovers like myself are searching the web for list-spiration (?)

Back then, I realised lists weren't just scraps of paper for to dos but could:

  • be an alternative to journalling
  • help me set goals
  • let me reflect
  • keep me motivated
  • help prioritise what's important
  • make me feel in control
  • organise my life when I have a lot on
  • mark myself at a certain point in time
  • reduce stress

We Heart It Picks

selection of pink themed square images from left to right and down: reading nook in shape of cloud, makeup set up, floral bikini, heart fairylights, makeup drawer, colour paint being fired over cloud, back of beaded dress, black strappy heels, alice in wonderland themed cupcakes, ear with ear cuff, peace earring and turtle earing, multicoloured sweets organised in box, woman with dark eyemakeup applying pale pink lipstick, retro black camera, cosy bed cupboard behind lattice white windows, ross and monica from friends dancing, pink nail polishes falling out of white plant pot
Admittedly, I'm probably in a minority of We Heart It users. I feel like most are 14 year old over-thinkers/ Directioners/ dreamers going through the 'who am I' and 'what does the world mean' and 'no one will ever love me' phase. Its a bit like Tumblr but minus the nudity and angst, a bit like Pinterest but less mumsy and organised and a bit like Instagram but less personal. I realise I've not really set it up in the best light but its all to soften the blow of what I'm about to admit. I am addicted to it and absolutely love it.

You know when you're lying in bed at night when you've finally turned off your laptop (a major statement of intent) but you're not quite ready to sleep? This is perfect. I can literally scroll through it for an hour double tapping nearly every second image. You know why? Every single picture is so pretty! I've never stumbled across so many creative and girly images. I want to print them out and make a huge mood board/ inspiration wall. So here are some of my recent favourites that I thought I'd share with you all in the hope that you won't think less of me for this guilty pleasure. After all, I think everyone still has a bit of the over-thinker/ Directioner/ dreamer phase left in them. Particularly the Directioner bit. I still love Zayn Malik and I'm not sorry.

Random Snaps

Hey Everyone!

I'm a blogger. I take pictures. Of a whole variety of stuff. And you know what? Sometimes those pictures don't accommodate a whole post of their own, but I still want to show you them so you can enjoy/ be inspired by them, as I am. So every now and again, there will be a post of random pictures :)

I love arm candy at the moment.
black silver and blue tubes all lined up getting blurrier in distance
I have a lot of mascaras.

I found this sanctuary of amazingness in Jenners in Edinburgh.
shabby chic display featuring bird cages and fabric manequin
Bird cages, dress form- need I say anything else?

Oh hey there :)

I adore shabby chic. If only I could buy a mansion and decorate it all this extravagantly!

Have you taken any pretty/ inspiring pictures lately? Leave me links!

I Love Stationery!

I'm posting everyday at 6.00pm this week: let me know in the comments if you would like me to post at set times like this more often :)
white hand with pale pink painted thumb holding up rainbow of Stabilo fine liner pens in red case
mini pink stationery items including stapler, sellotape holder, sharpener and scissors
mini pink stationery items in small pink and clear bag
four notebooks: pale pink with multicoloured polka dots with letter j in centre, hot pink moleskin, cream with birdcage, cream with fob watch pattern
Hey Everyone!

In keeping with expanding my blog themes, I thought I'd tell you about another obsession I have: stationery! During the #bbloggers twitter chat on Sunday I was very inspired by @_noire by her love for notebooks. She said how she always has a notebook to hand to scribble down ideas and I think this is lovely and I would quite like to try something similar. The pretty notebooks above are currently written in very little (anyone else do that- start one and never finish it?). My plan is to use the spotty one for lists, which I began doing in summer but never continued it and the bird cage one as a journal. The other two I'm not quite sure about yet, any ideas?

I also love stationery for the fact that it can be just as cute and pretty as makeup and decor. Take the rainbow pens in the first picture for example- these look amazing on display and they're amazing for mind maps. Also, how cute is this mini pink essentials kit?

I realise this is an extremely random post, but I sometimes think its important to appreciate the small things in life, and wanted to share with you one of those!

What sort of creative, inspiring, wonderful things do you write down?

Celebrate | Happy Diamond Jubilee!

Hey Everyone!

A very quick post today just to mark The Queen's Diamond Jubilee!  I personally haven't celebrated it in a big way, though I think its a lovely excuse to drink tea, eat cakes and watch TV all day! I really enjoy watching the coverage- its weird seeing history unfold before your eyes. Oh and has everyone seen Fearne Cotton on BBC1? She's looking very prim and proper for the occasion- I'm loving her cute little coat! And I also get to admire the gorgeous Kate Middleton and drool over  er I mean appropriately stare, in a completely non-obsessional way, at Prince Harry. I also love how events like this unite the whole country and everyone is part of the celebrations.

So what have you all been doing to celebrate the day?
