OOTD | Nearly Summer

Hi Everyone!

I haven't done an outfit of the day in a while so I thought you might like to see today's outfit.
girl wearing pink blouse, large brown shoulder bag, denim shorts and black tights
Sorry about the pictures poor quality- I've been trying to figure out ways to photograph my outfit myself and at the moment all I have managed is balancing my phone on my mirror and setting the timer (risky, I know!) Haha I don't think you expected the photo's life story did you?

The shorts are from H&M for £14.99 - look out for these in an upcoming haul.
The blouse is from Primark for £10 last year but similar ones are still available.
The bag is from Internacionale for £10 - read my thoughts on it here.
The tights are from Primark for £2.50.

Random thought: Does anyone else think its weird how some items of clothing are singular and others are plural and you just immediately know which is which? These are the sort of weird contemplations going on in my brain when I'm writing up OOTD's haha.

I choose this outfit because after that short burst of amazing weather we've reverted back to cold and rain, though I'm not quite ready to loose the shorts and pull out my jeans so I think this is a good alternative. I think the bright fuchsia is a nice contrast to my hair and is a attention-grabbing, statement piece.

I've been using my last day before I go back to school to laze around, blog and eat. Although the sun has gone the pollen certainly has not and I've been feeling awful all day. Note to self: never again forget to take my hayfever tablet in the morning. Does anyone else have major sugar cravings when they sneeze a lot? My theory is that I actually sneeze out my energy and my body is trying to replace it. This means excessive consumption of chocolate- yay :)

I realise this post consists of a lot of rambling and nonsense but ah well I'm in a talkative (or typative) mood.

Have you been adapting your outfits to the weather? What do you think of my sneezing theory? Do you agree that chocolate is the best medicine?

Celebrate | Happy Diamond Jubilee!

Hey Everyone!

A very quick post today just to mark The Queen's Diamond Jubilee!  I personally haven't celebrated it in a big way, though I think its a lovely excuse to drink tea, eat cakes and watch TV all day! I really enjoy watching the coverage- its weird seeing history unfold before your eyes. Oh and has everyone seen Fearne Cotton on BBC1? She's looking very prim and proper for the occasion- I'm loving her cute little coat! And I also get to admire the gorgeous Kate Middleton and drool over  er I mean appropriately stare, in a completely non-obsessional way, at Prince Harry. I also love how events like this unite the whole country and everyone is part of the celebrations.

So what have you all been doing to celebrate the day?

Haul | MUA @ Superdrug

Hi Everyone!

Its 3 for 2 in Superdrug at the moment so I couldn't help myself having a little haul. I think I was pretty responsible; I dragged myself away from Revlon Lip Butters and L'Oreal Mascaras and headed for the MUA stand:
4 lipsticks - dark red, pink, bright red and brown, pink eyeshadow trio and brown eyeshadow

lipstick bullets in black and silver casing: dark red glitter, shimmery pink, matte bright red, matte brown
Ah how pretty do these look? Lipsticks are one of my favourite items from the whole MUA line- they are so creamy, long lasting and can easily be mistaken for much higher end products. The shades I bought are 8,11, 13 and 7- I'm not sure which is which as they look different on the website and I think I got the tops and bottoms mixed up. But the photo shows them pretty true to colour. I love the bright red- its really daring and bold, I think I'll need to be feeling particularly brave to wear this out. The pink and brown are lovely day colours, very muted and neutral but enhance the colour of my lips. Finally the dark, glittery red is a gorgeous dark red and is actually a repurchase since I liked my last one so much!

pink, brown and white round eyeshadow trio
I also picked up this gorgeous eye shadow trio in pink sorbet. I use the two lighter shades as a highlighter and the darkest on my top lid and surprisingly its pink tones work amazingly well with my eye colour and made its green tones really stand out.

I also picked up this matt brown eye shadow in shade 19. It is super pigmented, so I think it'll last forever. I was planning on using this to fill in my eyebrows- but it went a bit wrong and I ended up looking like I had two slugs on my forehead- so any advice on how to make this work would be much appreciated.

So that is everything! I am so pleased with what I bought and the whole lot came to only £5.50- and that's what I call getting your moneys worth!

Hope you all have a fab day and enjoy the Jubilee celebrations! I for one am having a lazy day in front of the tv- reading magazines and blogging- heaven!

Free Benefit Make Up With Glamour Magazine

Hi everyone :)

I was super excited to hear (via Martin's Money Tips) that this months issue of Glamour magazine comes with one of three Benefit freebies.
three copies of Glamour magazine in clear packaging with orange top
Being the make up junkie I am, I bought three magazines so that I could get one of each products.
red and green box with skyline 'that gal', black and pink thin box 'bad gal lash' and pale blue and cream box with nurse on
The products are as follows:

"the POREfessional"
pale blue box next to pale blue tube
You will already know of my lust for this if you have seen this post. I couldn't believe my luck when I saw it came with the magazine.
7.5ml worth £10.

"that gal brightening face primer"
box next to tube
I have never actually heard of this primer but I'm super excited to give it a go, especially if its anywhere near as amazing as the POREfessional.
7.5 ml worth £15.

"BAD gal lash mascara"
thin black box on floor next to black and silver mini mascara tube
This has possibly the biggest brush I have ever seen and I can't wait to give it a go- it looks like it will give super voluminous lashes.
4.0g worth £10.

I am so impressed that each magazine is only £2 yet you get such high quality make up, together worth £35, for free. Also, there are three different covers available this month: Fearne Cotton, Eva Longoria and Kylie Minogue which I think is a nice touch as it gives a bit of variety for those who want to collect all three.
three magazines with three different women on front
I completely think this months issue is worth the money so if you haven't already got yours, go! Run and get it before they all go, which I expect will happen very quickly.

I'll perhaps do individual reviews on these products in the coming weeks, let me know how you get on with yours!

Garnier Intense Seven Days Challenge

Well hello!

Its been a while hasn't it? I have been so busy with my exams and all that hoohaa but its all finally over- woohoo! I can now enjoy a simple life of blogging and sun- well at least until I have to go back to school or this lovely weather ends!

So a while ago I signed up to receive a sample of Garnier's Intensive7days. I was so excited when it came through the post because I never get mail! The challenge is to use a sachet of the lotion on your legs every day for a week and test to see if at the end you have less dry skin. The little pack came with two Garnier skin readers, one for before the challenge and one for after.

I found this lotion light on the skin (which is great in this heat) yet it was also quite oily which I could see my skin liked as it became very smooth very quickly and was soaked in quickly upon application. It had a light, fresh scent of what reminded me of oranges mixed with a bit of fake tan. The amount in the sachet covered two legs which I was pretty impressed with.

So, the big question is, did it work? Well here are my skin readers, so see for yourself:
two white circular card strips with black circles at top. Right circle has more white dots than left
Before & After

As you can see, although both have dry skin cells (more white = more dry skin), there seems to be a significant amount less on the second.

I was very happy with this result and when buying body lotion in future this will be a definite possibility!

Have you tried this before?
