Life Lately: A Catch Up & A Ramble

9 small square images from left to right and down: pink nail polish, knitting a pink scarf, pink prosecco fund bank, hot chocolate with whipped cream and mini marshmallows, card with lavender and yellow flowers, blue and red teacup, pink and yellow tulips in vase against white wall, temple run screenshot of 2 million score, mirror selfie of girl with brown hair in camel coat wearing glasses
This week something completely unexpected, earth-shattering and incomprehensible happened: I submitted my two mid-term essays... 2 days early *gasp*. After worrying about how little time I had and how I didn't have a clue where to start, somehow I managed to get them done - and early. I'm odd. Since I've had a couple of well-deserved days off uni work, I've been trying to get back into blogging. It is always so strange delving back into the blogging community because everything seems to have moved on so much in only a few months. I don't know what twitter chats are still happening, what the latest hyped up products are or how platforms have changed. Its been 5 years since I started blogging but everytime I come back to it I feel completely out of the loop. Tonight I hung around the #bbloggers chat for half an hour and it was deserted - where is everyone?!

I can't believe that we're over half way through February already - how did that happen? I had a really chilled Christmas break including a little trip up North with my family which was lovely. Its nice to breath fresh, clean air for a change. Then it was back into the swing of university. Another thing I can't comprehend: I'm well over half way through uni?! I've only got a year and a bit to go and then its out into the big wide world. I'm still not even sure what I want to do. Does anyone with an arts degree ever know what they want to do?

This year so far has been really tightly scheduled and busy though a little repetitive. I've been going to uni Monday, Tuesday and Friday, placement on Thursday and working Saturday & Sunday. Really the only variation in my life is whether I'll listen to the radio or my Dirty Dancing CD when I'm driving. I need to get out more!

When I'm not studying (which isn't all that often at the moment as I can't seem to get back into the swing of things this semester), I'm wasting my time playing Temple Run. You're probably thinking - woah that's so 5 years ago. And your right. I used to play it as a distraction from studying in fourth year of school. As if I hadn't learned my lesson back then, I recently decided it would be a good idea to re-download it. A word to the wise - don't ever play this game. Its so addictive and pointless. I mean what am I actually achieving by collecting fake coins in a game? Nothing. Does this knowledge stop me playing it though? Nope. Someone send help.

Also when I'm at uni, I find it absolutely necessary to get completely addicted to bad reality tv. So far this year its been CBB (why? why?!) and now Celebs Go Dating. Are any of you watching it? I think its brilliant and so funny.

I always think its nice to have a little catch up/ chatty post every now and again. At least that's what I tell myself when I start writing and spew out paragraph upon paragraph. If only I could translate this talent for verbal diarrhea into essay-writing.

In the comments, be sure to let me know what kind of post you'd like to see over the next few weeks. I've been in a makeup rut lately and haven't found any new beauty products to outdo my latest favourites (here & here). Also, tell me which twitter blogger chats are your favourite. And feel free to ramble about the most random aspects of your life and make me feel better for having just done exactly that.

PS. I had forgot how warm writing on a laptop makes you. My laptop is quite old and so it is venting all its heat onto my legs and I'm roasting. This is me, signing off, and going to sit in the fridge.
